The RISE Wellness Story

At RISE Wellness, we are passionate about empowering people to take charge of their health and wellbeing through cold water therapy. This valuable technique has been used for centuries to boost immunity, reduce stress and anxiety, enhance cognitive function and so much more. Our mission is to make cold water therapy more accessible to the general market, giving everyone the opportunity to take advantage of its numerous benefits.

A mission inspired by a personal journey

For a long time, Co-Founder Greg Risely has been interested in cold water therapy, especially after training to feel refreshed and revived. Greg understood that exposure to cold water after exercise decreases soreness and muscle stiffness. Upon further research, he discovered its many other benefits, finding out that recovery is just a small part of what cold water therapy can offer.

Greg suffers from anxiety and intense OCD, which led him to further researching cold water therapy’s benefits. What he found blew him away. He uncovered the numerous mental and physical health benefits of cold
water therapy, and he resolved to try it out for himself.

After trying a few at-home ice baths using store-bought ice and his bathtub, Greg wanted the convenience and ease of a cold water therapy solution at home. However, these products were not readily available in South Africa, and would cost a fortune to import.

This led Greg and Co-Founder Brendon Hurst to establish RISE. Together, the duo aims to make cold water therapy accessible to the
South African market, while sharing the knowledge and power of this effective therapy method.
